The training of workers on safety is one of the main obligations to the employer, as provided in several articles of D. Lgs. 81/08. First of all, art. 37 of D. Lgs. 81/08 provides for the Employer to train workers, according to the content and duration of the State Regions Agreement of 21/12/2011.

In particular, theState Regions Agreement On worker safety training provides for a duration of courses varying according to the sector of the company (with minimum durations of 8 hours for companies falling in the classification “Low risk”, 12 hours for companies falling into the “Medium Risk” 16 hours for companies falling into the “High Risk”, according to the CLASSIFICATION based on the ATECO 2007 codes provided in Exhibit II of the State Agreement Regions of 21/12/2011) and which consists of a form of a “general” character (also available in E-Learning) and a “specific” character module. The latter must be adapted to the risks present in the product sector to which the company belongs.

Workers of companies of any ATECO code who perform non-access tasks and who carry out office activities possibly with the use of the video terminal (such as: administrative employee, commercial employee, front office, and/or back office) can follow the specific character form for “office activity” lasting 4 hours.

In addition, Workers must make an update lasting 6 hours every 5 years. The first five years since the State Regions Agreement came into force on 21/12/11 expired on 11/01/2017.
